Broadband Content Bits: Netflix; MTVmusic.com; TidalTV-CNBC; Crackle.com Show

-- Netflix expands to Silverlight and Macs; HD on Xbox: Netflix (NSDQ: NFLX) has broadened its offerings as it has begun deploying Microsoft (NSDQ: MSFT) Silverlight for streaming as well as opening the door to its Mac-using subscribers, newsfactor.com reports. Though the Silverlight move will only affect a few, Netflix will roll out the platform to all of its subscribers by the end of the year. The company is also ramping up its Xbox offerings; it announced the streaming deal earlier this summer and now NewTeeVee says the Xbox Live service update will include HD movies as well.

-- MTV launches Hulu-like music video site: Now if only MTV would actually feature music on its TV network… This week the company went live with a new music video service which Ad Age noted looks strikingly similar to its Viacom (NYSE: VIA) sibling, Hulu. Along with the usual social media element, mtvmusic.com includes a library of videos and the ability to embed the them on personal web pages.

-- TidalTV taps CNBC for long-form content: Expanding its business offerings, the broadband TV platform has signed a deal with CNBC for streaming rights to The Hunt for Black Gold, The Millionaire Inside, and Saving General Motors, TVWeek reports. TidalTV will also stream news updates from CNBC.com; it already carries news features from NBC News and MSNBC, as well as WSJ, AP and AFP.

-- Actor fka Bud Bundy snags Crackle.com show: In case you were wondering what ever happened to Married with Children's Bud Bundy, the actor is slated to star in an original series on Sony's Crackle.com, Variety reports. Star-ving is based on an exaggerated version of Faustino's own life; in the show he runs his own struggling porn shop and loses his wife to a rap star. (Not sure we want to know what's true.)
