The Federal Trade Commission is likely to issue its recommendations on behavioral targeting rules within the next few weeks, and while the Online Publishers Association expects the FTC to keep its policy of industry self-regulation intact, it is not taking any chances. It has created a new government affairs office in Washington, D.C., and hired Michael Drobac its first VP. Drobac has served as IAC's director of governmental affairs for the past three years. He has worked for Sen. Gordon Smith (R-OR), Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchinson (R-TX) and Sen. Norm Coleman (R-MN).
